A local business is opening their doors to help victims of a massive storm that has hit the southern half of the United States.
Renda Broadcasting is teaming up with McNaughton Brothers to gather supplies to take down to the Houston area to aid victims of Hurricane Harvey. Bob Shively of McNaughton Brothers said that a similar effort took place in 2005, when they collected items to send to Louisiana to help out victims of Hurricane Katrina. Over 18,000 pounds of materials were collected on that occasion and they hope to break that mark with the donations for this effort.
Shively said that on top of the normal items like non-perishable foods and toiletries, he said that cleaning materials are also badly needed. Laundry soap and cleaners along with supplies like mops and brooms will also be accepted in this donation drive.
Here are the donation guidelines:
Donations can be dropped off between 9-4 Monday through Friday at the McNaughton Brother’s offices on Old Route 119. Take the first exit south of the Park Inn by Radisson to get to their location.
