Earlier this month, the director of Enterprise Applications and Project Management at IUP’s Information Technology services office was given the lifetime emeritus award for the Pennsylvania Banner Users Group.
Jeff Montgomery is one of ten people selected for the award over the organization’s 25 year history. The award recognizes people who have dedicated many hours to the organization over the course of several years towards the student information system called Ellucian Banner. The system is used primarily by colleges and universities. Montgomery, a graduate of IUP, came to IUP 23 years ago as the HUB Coordinator for the Keystone Library Network. Since that time, he has been responsible for many other projects, including supporting and overseeing IUP’s use of the Ellucian Banner system since becoming IUP’s Coordinator of Application Development in 2005. He was recently assigned executive oversight for enterprise-wide IT project management.
Montgomery is the second person from IUP to be named lifetime emeritus with the PA Banner Users Group. The other was IUP’s Chief Information officer Bill Balint in 2015.
