Thanksgiving is a popular travel day each year and officials with Triple A say this year is no exception.
Triple A says they expect approximately 55 million people traveling nationwide this Thanksgiving, which is near pre-pandemic levels. Most people are traveling by car, but 7.8 percent are expected to utilize air travel.
Some drivers might be running behind in their travel plans, but Triple A executive Jim Garrity says to not panic and to give yourself enough time on the road.
Garrity adds that drivers should not drive at increased speeds if they’re trying to shave a few minutes off their travel time since it could be life-threatening.
Those on the road today and this weekend can check updated road and travel conditions by logging on to 511pa.com or by downloading the free 5-1-1 PA mobile app.
