UPDATE: Tthe brush fire call on Palmerton Road was a false alarm. Dan Shacreaw of the Blacklick Fire Department confirmed that what the caller thought was a brush fire was actually a controlled burn situation on Palmerton road. Fire crews were quickly recalled.
WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED
Three brush fires were reported within an hour of each other yesterday in Indiana County.
The first was reported at 3:06 PM at Cemetery Road in Conemaugh Township. Tunnelton Firefighters were called out for that brush fire.
One minute later, Blacklick, Blairsville and Coral-Graceton firefighters were called out for a brush fire on Palmerton Road in Burrell Township. Iselin firefighters would be called out 20 minutes later for the third brush fire call in a row near Cemetery Road in Young Township.
Few details are available on those brush fires.
