The Penguins had the day off yesterday after returning to Pittsburgh with a three-game winning streak in hand. The Pens will play Calgary in their traditional Thanksgiving Eve game tomorrow night at PPG Paints Arena.
For the second time this season, Sidney Crosby has been named the NHL’s number one star of the week. The Penguins’ captain had eleven points in four games, including ten on the road trip, when the Pens won three in a row, and he dominated the ice in the latter stages of the third period in Sunday’s win over Chicago. Crosby was also the number one star after week one of the season. Blues left wing Pavel Buchnevich was the number two star and Kraken goaltender Martin Jones was number three.
Last night, the New Jersey Devils won their 13th straight game, 5-2 over Edmonton. The NHL record is 17, set by the 1992-93 Penguins.
