A man from Baltimore was found guilty of criminal homicide and other charges connected with the execution-style killing of a man in Blairsville in 2014.
32-year-old DeAndre Jones, Jr. was found guilty of second degree murder, robbery and conspiracy to robbery in connection with the death of Tryon Howard in September of 2014. Howard was stabbed with a sword on September 29th of 2014 when he was visited by Jones, Kevin King, Stanley Boynton and Michael Eades, Jr. Prosecutors in previous trials had focused on Eades as the potential ringleader of the group that went to Howard’s apartment the night of his murder. In June, Eades was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter, and he was cleared on robbery charges. The other two conspirators, King and Boynton made plea deals for lesser sentences in exchange for their testimony against Eades.
Commenting on Yesterday’s verdict rendered by the Jury, Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty said he was happy with how the verdict came out.
Jones will be sentenced in October. He faces a manditory life sentence for the charge of murder in the second degree and twenty-year sentences for each of the remaining charges.
