Indiana County first responders were busy on Sunday and early this morning with several different calls reported.
A car fire was reported on Fire Tower Road in Cherryhill Township. Clymer fire department said that a Volkswagen Jetta caught fire for unknown reasons and was completely destroyed. Nothing else was damaged and no injuries were reported.
It would remain quiet until 7:38 PM, with a structure fire reported at the Taco Bell/Pizza hut location on Corporate Campus Drive in Burrell Township. While the Black Lick, Blairsville, Coral Graceton, Homer City, Armagh-East Wheatfield and Indiana fire departments were dispatched to the scene, many were cancelled in short order. Fire officials said that the fire call was due to a burned belt in the building’s HVAC system. There was no reported damage to the building itself.
Indiana police and fire departments were both dispatched at 10:50 PM for a carbon monoxide alarm activation at a location on Gompers Avenue in Indiana Borough.
Blairsville and Black Lick fire crews were called out again this morning for a physical rescue on Johnson Avenue in Blairsville Borough at 2:27 AM. Blairsville police were also called to the scene.
And another vehicle fire was reported at 4:23 AM on Sample Run Road in Cherryhill Township that brought the Clymer Fire Department out.
