Last night, the outside pool area of the Indiana Country Club turned into a tropical party for the United Way’s 2017 campaign kickoff party.
The annual fundraising campaign for the United Way of Indiana County got off to a strong start with their kickoff party at the Country Club, with this year’s theme taking people to the tropics with food ranging from burger sliders to mahi-mahi tacos. Even though the party did face some cooler temperatures and colder rain showers, the reveal of the 2017 fundraiser goal went off as planned, with IUP’s swim team revealing in the Country Club’s pool a total goal of $717,000.

Laurie Kuzneski, the chairperson for the 2017 campaign, says that the goal is an increase over the goal from last year, but is still very attainable.
The campaign is already off to a strong start with several events already taking place. Money raised in the campaign will to the United Way’s member organizations.
