The report comes from the US Dept. of Housing and Urban Development. It shows the ranks of homeless vets decreasing by 125 thus far this year, marking a drop of 12.7 percent.
HUD Regional Administrator Joe DeFelice says since 2010, this number has decreased more than 40 percent in Pennsylvania. HUD is teaming up with the Veterans Administration to offer a variety of services for veterans, especially aimed at avoiding the loss of a place to live. It includes a national toll-free hotline, 1-877-4-AID VET.
