A woman from Bedford County who was reported missing along with her two children and was found yesterday in White Township now faces charges of child endangerment and possession of a controlled substance.
State police say they have now filed charges against 31-year-old Alicia Rose Brumbaugh of Imler, who was found with her two-year-old daughter and one-year-old son and her father-in-law, 56-year-old Edgar Lee Decker, Jr. of Roaring Spring yesterday morning. Troopers say that when they found her, they did a search of the vehicle she was in and found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her purse.
It was originally reported that Brumbaugh and the children were last seen Monday morning at 4:00 AM, and around 11:30 PM, a relative of Brumbaugh’s called the state police in Indiana, saying she was either at or near the Walmart parking lot. The search that night turned up negative, and police issued a statement which included a description of the vehicle the four were travelling in. The next morning, someone recognized the vehicle driving in Armstrong Township and called 911. Police were able to pull over the vehicle around 10:45 at the intersection of Routes 422 and 286.
Troopers now say that they have no evidence that would indicate that Brumbaugh was in any danger or held against her will.
The two children were released into the custody of their father. Brumbaugh was placed in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail with a preliminary hearing set for November 26th. Decker was taken into custody on an arrest warrant and transferred to the custody of the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole. He is charged with retail theft in Bedford County.
