Paving continues today on a new section of Route 85 at the eastern end of Plumville, where construction crews are preparing to demolish and replace a bridge.
PennDOT says a temporary barrier and guiderail will also be put in place to help drivers move on to the newly paved road as demolition work begins on the bridge in preparation for the installation of a box culvert. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by a temporary signal, and the agency says drivers should expect congestion and delays.
The $1.97 million dollar project realigns the curve on Route 85 at Rossmoyne Road. A tavern located on that curve was removed last year. The work is expected to be completed by the end of December.
