Members of the Indiana Fire Association had a busy day yesterday as they were called out for three separate incidents.
Firefighters were called out along with state police and Citizen’s Ambulance EMTs were called out at 9:45 AM for a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Oakland Avenue, Warren Road and Rose Street. A pickup truck had been coming from Rose Street and entered the intersection when a black SUV ran the red light on Oakland Avenue and hit the truck T-Bone style.
Another vehicle accident was reported along Philadelphia Street in Indiana Borough at 3:49 PM on Friday, with Citizens Ambulance and State police responding to the scene. State police say the brakes on a Toyota 4-Runner had locked due to a mechanical malfunction, causing a pickup truck to rear-end the 4-Runner. No injuries were reported and both vehicles were able to make it out of there on their own power.
A structure fire was also reported on Philadelphia Street at 6:28 PM, with Indiana Fire Association, the RIG team, Citizens Ambulance and Indiana Borough Police dispatched at that time as well. Ron Moreau of the Indiana Fire Association said that first responders were cancelled quickly as it turned out to be a false alarm due to a furnace at Tire Express doing its job.
