IUP is getting ready to host two events on Veterans Day, including a concert with a world premiere musical composition.
On Monday, IUP’s HUB Ohio Room will host a round table discussion with members of the National Guard and US Army Reserve students. Participants will talk about the challenges that they encounter transitioning from military life to college life, and the challenges that face the current members of the military. That discussion is part of the Six O’Clock Series
The other event is a concert featuring IUP’s Trombone Choir and IUP Symphony Band at IUP’s Performing Arts Center Fisher Auditorium, and it will feature the debut of a new piece of music called “Freedom” by Jeffrey Herwig, which has been dedicated to all veterans suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The proceeds from the music will go to the Semper Fi fund, which provides assistance to veterans all across the country.
Both events are free and open to the public.
