On Monday night, the Indiana School Board announced that they are postponing the hearing process connected with the Eisenhower fire restoration and improvement project.
In a statement made at the start of the meeting, Board President Walter Schroth said that several members of the board were surprised by the potential cost of the project that was discussed at a previous board meeting.
This means the meeting originally planned November 22nd public hearing will not be held as scheduled. The delay will allow the board, the administration and architectural firm Buchart Horn to review the project further.
In other business, the board approved several revisions to board policies, but the board decided to pull policy 249 concerning bullying and cyberbullying. Dr. Jim Shaffer said that he and other board members felt the revisions ran counter to what they wanted to see with the policy.
The policy will head back to the Policy and Personnel Committee to continue work on the policy’s language.
