Pennsylvania State Police say a 14-year-old male student at Marion Center High School will be charged today with terroristic threats and disorderly conduct for posting a Snapchat message threatening to shoot his schoolmates.
The message was posted Saturday night at about 8 o’clock and claimed the boy intended to bring guns to school and shoot fellow students. The school district notified police of the threat shortly after 8 o’clock this morning. Police responded to the school and were told that another student reported the threat upon arriving for school today. The student who is accused of posting the threat and his parents were interviewed and police say the boy does not have access to weapons.
Armstrong-Indiana Crisis also responded to assist with the investigation. After consulting with the District Attorney, police say the boy will be charged today (Monday) via a Written Allegation to be filed with the Indiana County Juvenile Probation Department.
Pennsylvania State Police have determined that there is no credible threat to the Marion Center students, faculty and staff and thank the student who reported the threat, and the district for following up.
