The average cost of a gallon of gas went up a bit from last week.
Triple-A East Central reports that the statewide average as of this morning is 2.77 a gallon. Last week at this time, the average was $2.71 a gallon, so it went up by six cents over the last week.
Indiana County’s average price for a gallon of regular gas is among the highest in the state at $2.84 a gallon. Among the surrounding counties in the region, Indiana ties with Clearfield County. The lowest average among our neighboring counties is Jefferson, with an average cost of $2.79 a gallon. Westmoreland, Armstrong and Cambria Counties all tied with $2.83 a gallon.
Johnstown had the highest average gas price in the state, tying with Indiana and Clearfield counties at $2.84 a gallon, but their average gas price was just a few tenths of a cent more than both Indiana and Clearfield. The lowest gas price average was the Altoona region at $2.67 a gallon.
