Three defendants are scheduled for sentencing in Indiana County Court today, but one of them has asked the court to allow him to withdraw his guilty plea.
34-year-old Mark Anthony Bower of Kittanning pleaded guilty in August to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Bower was caught with heroin, prescription medication, and marijuana at Know Street and Fairview Avenue in White Township last December. He’s scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Thomas Bianco, but the judge must first conduct a hearing and rule on Bower’s petition to withdraw his plea.
Also scheduled for sentencing today is 22-year-old Olajuwon Kadeem Ali Lewis, who is now listed with an Indiana address but who at the time of his arrest was listed as being from Lancaster. He pleaded guilty to robbery for an incident last January. Lewis went to an apartment at the Crimson Square complex on School Street in Indiana, where he pulled a gun and demanded money and drugs from three people. He hit one victim in the head several times, fired a shot into the ceiling, and stole a gun from one victim and cash from the other two, along with a small amount of marijuana. Police caught Lewis trying to flee as they arrived on the scene.
38-year-old Justin Lee Urban of Saltsburg will be sentenced today for a guilty plea to possession with intent to deliver.
