The high winds have knocked out power to residents across Indiana County.
Penelec is reporting a large outage in Rayne Township with 305 customers in that area without power. Indiana borough also experiencing an outage in the area with 146 people without power right now, with another 49 people in White township experiencing outages. 135 penelec customers are without power in South Mahoning Township, with another 98 in West Mahoning Township. Also, 124 Plumville Penelec customers are also without power. Other areas that have just a handful of outages right now include Banks, Burrell, Center, East Mahoning, Green, Montgomery and Young Townships, along with Ernest, Glen Campbell, Homer City, Saltsburg, and Smicksburg boroughs.
REA Energy is also reporting an outage at this time from the high winds. About 4000 REA members served by the Indiana North and Washington Substations were without power last night, and as of this morning, 600 members remain without power.
Crews from both utility groups are currently trying to make repairs and restore power to all customers. It’s not known when power will restored to everyone.
