At the District 6 cross country championships yesterday, the defending state Class A champion Marion Center girls finished second, just one point behind Westmont Hilltop, but earning a team spot in the state championship next weekend.
Eight girls and eight boys from the Heritage Conference earned their way into the state tournament field.
