Yesterday, IUP’s Toretti Auditorium at the KCAC played host to a naturalization ceremony.
The ceremony was part of IUP’s celebration of International Education Week, designed to promote cross-cultural awareness, prepare students for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to learn, study and exchange experiences in the United States.
Among those who were naturalized ceremonies was Wenxi Schwab, a doctoral student in IUP’s Professional Studies in Education. She said she was both excited and ready.
This year marks the eighth year that IUP hosted the naturalization ceremony, which was sponsored by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the IUP office of International Education.
