The Blairsville-Saltsburg School District is getting ready to start the school year, and at last night’s meeting, the school board approved the purchase of new computers.
The board approved the purchase of 60 computers, 30 of them Chrome books for the Blairsville Elementary library. Superintendent Jeffrey Soles said the Chrome books would bolster the elementary library’s computer lab and assist the school librarian in incorporating technology in the literacy program.
The other 30 computers purchased are desktop computers, and will be used at the upper grade levels, with 15 going to each side of the district.
In other business, the board accepted a grant from the Tri-County Work Force in the amount of $53,535.50 to operate a job training program out of the school district.
