Mary (McMillen) Minser, age 94, of Home, died Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in 1925 in South Mahoning Twp. to Samuel and Emma B. Martin McMillen. She lived her entire life on the family farm except as a short time when she served her country as “Rosie the Riveter” in Buffalo, NY.
Mary was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Clymer. She was known as “Aunt Mary” to many children through the Child Evangelism Fellowship. She was also well known for her deep faith, hospitality and kindness to all.
She is survived by five sons and three daughters, William J. (Shirley), Fitchburg, WI; James C. (Laurabelle), St. Maries, ID; Doris E. George (Joseph), Home; Paul S., Home; Gary M. (Regina), Marion Center; Mark A. (Theresa), Indiana; Janet E., Home; Margaret Z. Bishop (Thomas), Abilene, KS; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother Richard McMillen (Dorothy), Norfolk, VA; sisters-in-law, Helen McMillen, Marion Center; Corene McMillen, Clinton, TN; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 50 years, William G. Minser. brothers John and Howard McMillen, sisters Ruth Harman, Jane Brocious, grandson Neil, and great grandson David.
Friends will be received on Friday from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Bowser-Minich Funeral Home, Indiana. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 P.M. at the Calvary Baptist Church, Clymer, with the Pastor Daryl Jeffers officiating. Private interment will be made in the Marion Center Memorial Cemetery.
