At their meeting Tuesday night, members of the United School Board heard from a concerned citizen about transportation for students interested in wrestling.
During the public comment period, volunteer assistant football coach Michael Sees said he had students from Blacklick Valley express interest in joining the school’s wrestling team this year, but the lack of transportation prohibits those students from coming to campus for practices and matches. Sees said discussions for possible transportation took place during football season, but since no solution arose, he sought the school board’s help in finding one.
Board president Eric Matava said the board will continue discussions on this issue in future meetings.
In other business, the board approved the revisions to the district organization chart, emergency preparedness and response, school security personnel, and transportation.
Matava said turnover and recommendations from the Pennsylvania School Boards Association led to the revisions.
The board also approved a one-year agreement for Cummins Sales and Service for the maintenance of generators at the Elementary School, Junior/Senior High School, and Athletic Stadium at a cost of $1,815.04. The agreement begins December 1.
