A man charged with leading police on a chase through multiple municipalities and ending with a crash will have a preliminary hearing today.
22-year-old Daniel Deem of Indiana is scheduled to appear before District Judge George Thachick today at 9:30 for a preliminary hearing on a felony charge of fleeing or eluding a police officer, a misdemeanor DUI charge and 30 summary traffic charges in connection with the chase that happened on June 13th. Troopers attempted to pull Deem over on Water Street for a traffic violation, but Deem sped off towards Third Street. As police gave chase, he ran several stop signs and traffic lights. The chase came to an end in Homer City Borough when Deem hit a parked vehicle and his car became partially disabled. Deem has been free on 10% of $10,000 bail.
Also having a preliminary hearing today is Robert Ambers of Indiana. He is charged with felony aggravated assault, misdemeanor simple assault and summary harassment for an incident on July 8th.
Christian Harris of Chambersburg is also set for a preliminary hearing in Indiana County Court today. He faces a misdemeanor charge of simple assault along with a summary harassment charge from an incident on June 6th.
