State police are investigating a case of theft by deception involving a 25-year-old woman from Indiana in late September. Troopers say that someone was able to get the woman’s personal information, and were able to access and use her debit card information to ring up $95 from her card. The investigation is ongoing.
State Police are charging an Indiana man with drug possession after a traffic stop on October 6th. Police say that they pulled over a vehicle near the intersection of School Street and South Cherry Avenue for a summary traffic violation. The driver, identified as 27-year-old Justin Bodenschatz, consented to a search and police found raw marijuana and two multi-colored glass pipes in the center console.
State Police have charged a 19-year-old Clymer man with theft for stealing a rabbit in Clymer on Sunday. Troopers say that at 9:40 PM on October 13th, Tyler Bollinger went into the yard of 56-year-old Ricky Allison on Jefferson Street and took a rabbit out of a cage in the backyard. Bollinger left going north on Jefferson Street towards his home. The rabbit was eventually recovered and returned to Allison. Charges were filed against Bollinger.
State police are saying two people were involved in a swipe-and-swap scheme at the Indiana Walmart on September 13th. Troopers say that around 5:00 PM that day, the suspect, who was not identified, and an unnamed woman took items off the shelf without paying for them, then took the items back to the front counter to return them and have the value of the items put on a gift card. Police say that $49.72 worth of goods were taken, including a tent, steel pegs and various consumable goods.
State Police are investigating the theft of an SUV on October 6th in Homer City Borough. Troopers say that an unknown person stole a dark blue Hyundai Santa Fe from a Homer City resident who had parked the car on Station Street, unlocked with the keys left in it. The vehicle was involved in a crash the next day, and the driver fled the scene after that. The case is still under investigation.
State police are now charging a Walmart employee with stealing money out of the cash registers for a case that dates back to August 19th. Police say that an unnamed person stole $770 out of the registers.
