In high school football, Quarterback Jacob Barnett ran for three touchdowns and running back Josh Syster added two more as Purchase Line beat United, 48-12.
United dressed only fifteen players, as injuries and the flu limited practice for several players on an already-depleted roster during the week. Lions’ star quarterback/running back Hunter Cameron left the game in the second quarter with an injury, and the teams played eight-minute quarters in the second half, which was played under the mercy rule.
Purchase Line will travel to Saltsburg on Friday night to wrap up their Heritage Conference season. The Red Dragons are 5-3 and the Trojans are 6-2. You will hear the game on WQMU U92.5 FM. United is scheduled to finish the Heritage Conference schedule with a home game against Marion Center.
