In Indiana County Court today, a number of criminal defendants are scheduled for sentencing, including a Blairsville man in multiple cases.
In a plea bargain, 35-year-old Steven Barnhart Jr. pleaded guilty to fleeing or eluding police and driving while suspended, with agreement for non-prosecution for two counts of aggravated assault and nine summary traffic violations, seven of which were for running stops signs in Blairsville on February 17th. Barnhart will also be sentenced for retail theft in five other cases dating back as far as 2012 after his probation in those cases was revoked.
29-year-old Elijah Fletcher of McElhatten, Clinton County, will be sentenced for a guilty plea to possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. The incident occurred o March 7th.
Plea Court is also scheduled for defendants in ten cases. Among them are 31-year-old Robert George of Shippenville, who is charged with two counts each of theft, simple assault, and harassment, plus criminal mischief for an incident last November.
The other cases are for crimes ranging from theft to simple possession, and one for institutional vandalism.
