The Homer-Center girls kept up their quest for a District 6 Class A volleyball championship with a four-set win over host Portage last night. It was the third time the Wildcats topped the Mustangs this season and it looked for a while that they would sweep Portage off the court, but the Mustangs rallied to take the third set before Homer-Center put them away, 25-14, 25-10, 23-25, 25-17. Meegan Williams had 23 kills and 19 digs, Ashlynn Kerr had 15 kills and 19 digs, Macy Sardone had 45 assists and 19 digs, and Anna Cutshall had 19 digs. Ali Schmidt had 5 solo blocks and Molly Kosmack had 4 solo blocks.

Homer-Center found their game in the fourth set to put the Mustangs away.
The District 6 volleyball championship match will be on Saturday at noon at the Altoona Fieldhouse. Homer-Center will play undefeated West Branch, the top seed, which shut out Bishop McCort last night, 25-22, 25-14, and 25-13. The Wildcats beat the Warriors in five sets in last year’s semifinals.
Tonight the seventh seeded Marion Center Stingers try to punch their ticket to Altoona when they travel to sixth seed Tyrone in the District 6 Double-A semifinals. Top seed Philipsburg-Osceola plays number four Bellwood Antis in the other semi.
