The Steelers’ players are enjoying a four-day break during their bye week before they return to start preparing for their November 13th game against New Orleans. The coaches are still hard at work, and coach Mike Tomlin says they are reviewing their own performances that have led to a 2-6 start this season. Tomlin said yesterday he hopes his team enjoys the time off – responsibly – and comes back ready to work.
The coach says he is eager to get a look at new cornerback William Jackson III, who they acquired on Tuesday. He says they have had an eye on Jackson for quite a while, going back to his college days before he was drafted by Cincinnati one pick before the Steelers would have chosen him in 2016.
Tomlin says the Steelers felt comfortable trading Chase Claypool to the Bears on Tuesday because of the future draft pick they got in return and because they like their other inside receiver options.
The undefeated Philadelphia Eagles visit Houston to kick off Week Nine in the NFL tonight.
