Jared McCann and Patric Hornqvist each scored two goals as the Penguins whipped Columbus, 7-2 last night. However, the Pens lost centers Evgeni Malkin and Nick Bjugstad to injuries.
Kris Letang, Teddy Bleuger, and Marcus Pettersson also scored for the Penguins and Matt Murray made 28 saves. Sidney Crosby had two assists to pass Larry Murphy for 41st on the NHL all-time points list, and even got into a fight with the Blue Jackets’ Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Malkin was injured in a collision with Columbus’ Vladislav Gavrikov in the second period. Bjugstad suffered an unknown injury in the third. Both players were to be evaluated today.
