The Penguins played without Kris Letang, whose streak of 83 straight games played was stopped by an undisclosed illness. Jeff Carter also missed the game with a lower body injury and was replaced by Drew O’Connor centering the third line. Forward Teddy Blueger missed his tenth straight game.
Sullivan passed Eddie Johnston for first place on the all-time Penguins list of games coached, with 517. He’s won 301 of them.
