State Police in Indiana County have announced their plans for the upcoming IUP Homecoming weekend.
For the weekend starting October 3rd and ending October 6th, state police will be assisted by mounted patrol units, the bureau of liquor control enforcement, and additional department resources. Specific efforts over the weekend will include extra roving patrols and aggressive traffic enforcement activities focused on a “zero tolerance” approach. Their focus for the weekend will be on the prompt investigation all criminal activity found in neighborhoods and highways.
Last year, state police made 16 DUI arrests over the Homecoming weekend. There were also seven public drunkenness arrests made, and issued 311 traffic citations.
