Normally road crews are not active on the weekend, but today is an exception.
Road crews will be out today for some work on Indian Springs Road. Crews will work on replacing a cross pipe and continue to work on widening the roadway between Eat ‘n’ Park and the Hampton Inn, but that traffic may affect the intersection of Indian Springs Road and Oakland Avenue. Motorists are being advised to stay alert in the area and expect delays as well.
This is part of the $19.83 million Route 286/US 422 widening and resurfacing, which includes the widening of 286 and the 422 interchange, replacement of a bridge over McCarthy Run, and installing sidewalks along Route 286. Other work includes the drainage and guiderail upgrades and traffic signal replacements. The project will wrap up in December of next year.
