With the season-long repaving project on the Route 119 bypass in White Township nearing completion, road crews will begin conducting rolling alternating lane patterns today as they cut rumble strips into the highway’s shoulders.
The rumble strips are meant to alert drivers who may drift off the travel lanes. The alternating traffic, which PennDOT says is intended to slow drivers down through the construction zone, will begin at the Lucerne Road intersection in Homer City and stretch to the Route 286 Clymer ramp outside of Indiana. The work is expected to last through Friday at 6 PM.
The $4.1 million repaving project is scheduled for completion this coming Monday.
