At his weekly news conference yesterday, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said he had “no news” on a possible return for linebacker TJ Watt, who has been out since suffering a pectoral muscle injury in week one against Cincinnati. Watt also suffered a knee injury a couple of weeks ago and had arthroscopic knee surgery. Tomlin also revealed that rookie wide receiver Calvin Austin III will likely remain on injured reserve after today, and according to NFL rules, if he is not activated today, he will have to miss the rest of the season with a foot injury.
Tomlin also said cornerback Levi Wallace will not likely play on Sunday against Philadelphia after suffering a shoulder injury Sunday in Miami.
Tomlin says this week’s opponent, Philadelphia, loves to force turnovers while protecting the ball themselves.
Steelers/Eagles kicks off Sunday at one o’clock in Philadelphia.
