Gas prices are going down as we reach the end of October.
As of this morning, the national gas price average is now $3.77 a gallon, which is a drop of two cents over the last 24 hours and a ten-cent drop from last week. It is a six-cent increase from last month and its’ up 39 cents over the last year. Pennsylvania’s average this morning is $3.92, which is also on a decline. It dropped less than a cent over the last 24 hours and three cents over the last week. It is still 11 cents higher than last month and a 36-cent hike from last year at this time.
Experts with Triple-A are saying that global recession fears and the Biden administration’s plans to tap into the Strategic Petroleum Reserve into December has helped to ease the price at the pump. Demand has increased slightly, while the total national gasoline stock went down slightly. If demand remains low and the price of crude oil does not spike, the price at the pump will continue to fall.
Indiana County’s average this morning is $3.95, tying it with neighboring Westmoreland County. The lowest average in the region remains with Jefferson County at $3.84. Both Clearfield and Cambria Counties have a $3.92 average, while Armstrong County’s average is the highest in the region at $3.97.
Prices in Indiana, Homer City, Clymer and Blairsville are all hovering around the $3.95 a gallon mark, according to Gasbuddy.com
