The Pirates’ Ke’Bryan Hayes is one of three finalists for the National League Gold Glove at third base. It won’t be an easy competition. He’s up against the Cardinals’ Nolan Arenado, who has won the third base Gold Glove after all nine of his Major League seasons, and Colorado’s Ryan McMahon. Arenado has also won five Platinum Gloves for the best at his position in all of baseball.
Hayes led the NL in traditional categories such as fielding percentage, putouts, assists, and chances, plus two new-fangled categories: defensive runs saved and outs above average.
