Pennsylvania State Police and the FBI have discovered the body of abducted two-year-old Nalani Johnson during a search in Blairsville.
Nalani was found at 1:30 pm in the Pine Ridge Park area, according to Pennsylvania State Police spokesman Steve Limani.
According to police, Nalani, her father, and a friend of the father were in a vehicle driven by Sharena Nancy on Saturday night.
Nalani’s father and Nancy had an argument during the ride. Police said when the car was stopped, the father got out of the vehicle with his friend, but Nancy drove away before he could get his daughter out of the car.
Nancy was charged with kidnapping and concealing the whereabouts of a child. While being interviewed, she allegedly claimed to police that Nalani was being sold by her father for $10,000.
Police and other authorities had been searching for Nalani for the past few days from Penn Hills to Blairsville.
Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty said during a news conference held Tuesday evening at Pine Ridge Park that few other details are available right now, but they are working with Allegheny County Officials and other investigators in order to bring those responsible to justice.
Officers with the Attorney General’s office, the Allegheny County Police, Indiana County Emergency Management and Westmoreland County’s K-9 unit were at the park assisting State Police and the FBI with the search.
