The Penguins are off to a 2-and-0 start and visit the Montreal Canadiens tonight in their first road game of the young season.
In their dominant win Saturday night over the highly-rated Tampa Bay Lightning, the Pens showed a determination to play intense, physical hockey. Defenseman Marcus Pettersson had ten hits in the game. Coach Mike Sullivan says Pettersson’s play is part of the team’s effort to be “hard to play against”.
Sullivan said after yesterday’s practice in Cranberry that injured center Teddy Blueger would not accompany the team to Montreal. He suffered an undisclosed injury September 28th and is slowly working his way back, but he did practice in a regular jersey yesterday, taking his first contact since the injury.
Tonight’s game faces off shortly after 7 PM. We’ll pick up the broadcast on 92.5 FM U92 after tonight’s Hawk Talk, with IUP football coach Paul Tortorella joining the Voice of the Crimson Hawks, Jack Benedict, live from the CH Field Craft Kitchen at the Hilton Garden Inn from 6 to 7 both on U92 and on Renda Digital TV on our YouTube channel.
