After falling behind, 1-0 last night to Tampa Bay, the Penguins scored five straight goals on the way to a 6-2 win over the Lightning.
Six different players scored for the Pens. Steven Stamkos opened the scoring in the first period for Tampa Bay, but Sidney Crosby scored his second goal of the season on a 2-on-1 breakaway with Jake Guentzel later in the period. The Penguins then took the lead for good as they scored the next four goals, starting with a Danton Heinen power play tally in the second period, followed by a Guentzel re-direct of a Kris Letang pass in the third, and subsequent goals by Jeff Carter and Bryan Rust. After Braden Point scored for the Lightning to make it 5-2, Rickard Rakell scored into an empty net as time was winding down.
The Pens return to the ice tomorrow night with their first road game of the season, at Montreal tomorrow night.
