Indiana County Commissioners today approved a repair project for one of the county’s covered bridges.
John Emerson with Gibson-Thomas, the county’s engineers, said that the Harmon Covered Bridge is facing some structural problems.
The project will be done by Ray Winters and Sons at a cost of $42,500.
In other business, the commissioners gave special recognition to United School District and ICTC student Jakob Dixon, who competed in the Skills USA competition for sheet metal recently. Not only did Dixon take first place at the regional and state level, he also took first place at the national level. This marks the first time an ICTC student has won the national competition. Dixon talks about what he had to do for the competition.

He said he is considering returning to the competition next year, but maybe in a different discipline.
