State police report a number of criminal incidents, all of which happened to have occurred in White Township.
FIGHTING
An Indiana man has been charged with strangulation, simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct for a fight involving a knife early last Wednesday at a location along Spruce Lane in White Township.
State police say 21-year-old Jonathan Mikeal Porter was arguing with 27-year-old Dylan Lee Kaehler of Indiana just after midnight when it turned physical. The two separated without further incident, and subsequently injuries were found on Kaehler. Porter was arrested and taken to the Indiana County Jail. He was arraigned later that day and placed in the Indiana County Jail, with bond set at $10,000.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
An Indiana man has been charged with strangulation after a domestic argument turned physical last Thursday evening at a home along Gompers Avenue in White Township.
State police do not identify the suspect, but court documents indicate charges of strangulation, terroristic threats, simple assault, and harassment against 35-year-old Kevin Michael Dodds Jr.
Police say Dodds and the 34-year-old victim were arguing when he punched her in the face with a closed fist, knocking her to the ground. He then is accused of putting his hands around her neck and saying he was going to kill her, and after choking her, he started kicking her.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
A Beyer man is accused of attempting to intimidate a person by “racking the slide of his handgun” while making comments toward the victim. Police don’t include the date of the incident but say it happened along Oakland Avenue shortly before one o’clock in the morning. A disorderly conduct charge against 60-year-old David Barota was filed with District Judge Susanne Steffee.
THEFT FROM VEHICLES
An Indiana woman is accused of stealing from parked vehicles early on the morning of August 19th in White Township.
State police report that 24-year-old Paige Bailey Johnson was looking in the windows of vehicle parked at a business along Kolter Drive at 12:27 AM, and that she got into one vehicle, swiping about six dollars in change. The victim was a 46-year-old man from Punxsutawney.
An hour later, police say Johnson stole about five dollars in coins from a vehicle parked along Oakland Avenue. She was dressed in a dark hoodie and black pants and fled into the woods toward Getty Avenue. In this case, the victim was a 48-year-old Indiana man.
Johnson was later identified as the suspect and charged with two counts of theft from a motor vehicle in each incident.
