Few details are available on a vehicle crash that happened yesterday on the east end of Philadelphia Street.
The call was initially reported at 2:23 PM on Sunday by Indiana County 911, with Indiana Fire Department, Citizen’s Ambulance and Borough Police all dispatched to the scene. Ron Moreau of the Indiana Fire Association reported that the driver, identified only as a woman, was going west and experienced a medical condition that rendered her unconscious behind the wheel. She missed the turn near the exit towards East Pike, and went into the house. The sedan initially collided with one corner of the house, went through a patio area and into another corner.
The driver was able to walk away from the scene under her own power but was later taken by ambulance to IRMC. One person was inside the house, but was not in path of the crash. That resident was shaken but not injured. Water lines were broken as a result of the crash, and electricity and gas have been shut off to the house.
