The Steelers returned to the practice field for the first time since Sunday’s loss to Buffalo, but eight injured players sat out with injuries.
On the offense, center Mason Cole and tight end Zach Gentry were sidelined, and on the defense, cornerbacks Cam Sutton, Levi Wallace, and Ahkello Witherspoon; safety Minkah Fitzpatrick; and defensive linemen Larry Ogunjobi and Montravious Adams all missed practice.
Safety Terrell Edmunds was a full participant after missing last Sunday’s game due to a concussion, but tight end Pat Freiermuth was limited due to a concussion and wide receiver Diontae Johnson was limited due to a hip ailment.
Quarterback Kenny Pickett will get his first start at Acrisure Stadium on Sunday. He says that if the Steelers want to turn the season around, they need to prepare better.
Pickett says the team realizes what they need to do to start winning games.
Linebacker Alex Highsmith says he is looking forward to matching wits Sunday with Tampa Bay and their legendary quarterback, Tom Brady.
Highsmith says the Steelers need to be ready to play on Sunday or Brady will exploit them.
