Earlier today, IUP President Dr. Michael Driscoll opened the academic year at IUP with a speech as part of opening ceremonies at Fisher Auditorium.
In his remarks, Driscoll did mention that IUP’s enrollment was continuing to decline, and the expenditures remain high for students and the university alike. Those are just a few of the challenges that the university faces. But Driscoll remains optimistic that the university can come together to face the challenges.
Driscoll also was realistic in saying that the university continues to face a lot of challenges financially, but he said that they need to come together to look at the bottom line, and it needs to be done quickly.
