Gas prices across Pennsylvania are continuing their downward trend as the end of the summer travel season approaches.
According to Triple-A East Central, the average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania today is $2.77 a gallon. That’s four cents cheaper than last week at this time, and down 27 cents from last year at this time. Indiana County remains on the high side for gas price averages, as the county’s average is $2.85 a gallon. Among the neighboring counties, Clearfield county has the lowest gas price average at $2.74 a gallon. That’s followed by Jefferson County at $2.77 a gallon, Cambria at $2.78, Armstrong County at $2.82 a gallon, and Westmoreland County at $2.83 a gallon.
The highest recorded gas price average in the state is in Mercer County at $2.89 a gallon. The lowest gas price average is in the Altoona region, with the average cost of a gallon of gas checking in at $2.55 a gallon.
