The Indiana County District Attorney’s Office has announced a guilty plea entered yesterday by an Indiana man who was charged with having a large amount of heroin during a traffic stop in April.
33-year-old Matthew Pacconi pleaded guilty to possession with intent to deliver one-to-ten grams of heroin.
Indiana Borough Police pulled over a vehicle on April 4th in the 300 block of Philadelphia Street, finding Pacconi inside along with 21-year-old Amir Mithcell of Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County. According to the police report at the time, Mithcell had 272 bags of heroin, three grams of crack cocaine, Xanax pills, a handgun, and cash on him. Pacconi had 57 bags of heroin on him.
Mithcell was charged with four counts of possession with intent to deliver, four counts of possession, and a firearms offense. However, at a preliminary hearing in June, the charges were withdrawn. There is no word on whether they will be re-filed.
Additional charges of conspiracy, possession of a controlled substance and of drug paraphernalia will not be prosecuted against Pacconi. He will be sentenced on October 28th.
