The Pirates lost their seventh consecutive game last night, 3-1 to the Cardinals in St. Louis. Adam Frazier hit a leadoff home run for the Pirates, but there was no offense after that, as the team had only six hits on the night. The Pirates are 4-and-23 since the All-Star break. Steven Brault pitches today for the Bucs against the Cards’ Miles Mikolos.
The Pirates have assigned catcher Francisco Cervelli to Altoona for a rehab stint, and he will be playing catcher. He’s been out since May 25th with a concussion, and the team has been considering moving him to another position to protect him. He’s had two concussions this year, and multiple concussions in previous years.
