PennDOT has announced a small change for the upcoming closure of Oakland Avenue for paving that starts tonight.
In a news release, PennDOT announces that while the road will close at 7:00 PM tonight as scheduled, the re-opening has been extended until Tuesday, August 13th. It was originally slated to re-open on Monday, the 12th. PennDOT representatives say that the workers are just giving themselves an extra day for the project. They had originally anticipated the closure to be until the 12th or the 13th.
The detour will remain the same, with motorists being directed onto South 7th Street to Wayne Avenue, then to Rose Street, and back onto Oakland Avenue. Motorists are also encouraged to check with 511PA online at 511pa.com, use the 511PA app or call 511 from your home phone.
