The Homer City borough council discussed the work being done on various borough streets, and approved a motion to post a part-time position at tonight’s meeting.
Borough Manager Rob Nymick discussed the ongoing construction on Main Street, reporting that parking meters are installed and workers have begun digging to install power lines. He estimates the project is 50 to 60 per cent complete. Nymick also acknowledged the curb as a tripping hazard in a particular area of Main Street, due to the lower elevation of the West Side of the street. Possible solutions will be discussed further in the future.
While no issues were reported with the summer’s paving projects, Nymick acknowledged a water break on Filbert Street, which will be fixed Thursday.
Further, the council will likely motion to adopt the ordinance extending Carlisle Street, and to accept the Deed of Dedication, during August’s meeting.
Lastly, the council approved a motion to post employment for a part-time laborer who would work on an as-needed basis at $9 per hour.
